Hardball

Much cheaper and much more informative than most college classes. This book is about campaigns & elections and succeeding on Capitol Hill. Matthews was Chief of Staff for a U.S. Senator.

Included are the topics: leave no shot unanswered. All politics is local (which I later modified to “all global politics is local.” And only speak when it improves the silence.

Campaign Craft

An overview of modern political campaign practices. Practically every aspect of campaigns is covered. Suitable case studies.

The Campaign: The Sales Engineer's Guide to Winning the Vote cover

The Campaign: The Sales Engineer’s Guide to Winning the Vote

Political campaigns as seen through the lens of a sales engineer.

Several “miracle” campaigns are covered: Murkowski’s (Alaska) write in Senate Race. The way Lincoln took the White House and other genius campaign moves are covered.

Highly recommended.

The Sovereign Individual

As a leader, you must attract and retain the best entrepreneurial and technological talent. The Dark Ages are over. This demystifies the futuristic speeches pundits and professors make. This book debunks Leftist fraud overtures and weak sales pitches. Balkanization could well be in the world’s future. This is a must read for the abolish the income tax crowd.

One takeaway from the book is that some Catholic rules from Medieval times were made up and arbitrary. The authors compare this to modern arbitrary rule. Change we can believe in might be coming.

Second Chance: for Your Money, Your Life and Our World

Second Chance was written after the 2008 Financial Crisis. Kiyosaki suggests using forces rather than fighting them. I.e. borrowing money to buy real estate. There are a few stories in Second Chance that make the book worthwhile. Buckminster Fuller was discussed in Second Chance quite a bit. Personally, I’d rather hear about inflation and wage theft from Kiyosaki than almost anyone.

Atlas Shrugged

Written in the 1950’s, this all-time bestseller depicts a communist takeover of the USA. This is an important work for several reasons. You won’t sound like a conservative or libertarian if you haven’t read or listened to Atlas.

Make certain you don’t leave the world like Jim Taggart or the Wet Nurse.

The conversation at the end, between John Galt and President Thompson are priceless. For the capable and based wage slave, the scene where John Galt walks off Twentieth Century Motors is inspiring.

BBOTMM 5th ed

How to plan for life after POTUS 47? This is your audiobook. Black Book contains situational awareness specifically withheld from College Republicans and many young indie conservative Christians. This audiobook goes along well with the career retooling theme of this site. A history of the FI-RE movement, working for/ against local influencers and basic frameworks for entrepreneurs and investors in modern times are covered.

There is also a chapter on group dynamics that you’ll find helpful with any small groups you operate with.

My favorite chapters are the situational awareness cliches and their answers. Pretty useful.

Mind Control

This is a gripping and illustrative mind control story. You could beat a superior enemy. This book is as good as the 9 Laws.

Escape the Matrix cover

Escape the Matrix

What holds us back from achieving our dreams? What kinds of things should / would / could life drained people like us do to enjoy or be free? What questions to ask ourselves in advance? This audiobook covers most major life areas. Inspired by Alden Tan, a blogger from Singapore.

In Lieu of an MBA

Let me save you $30,000 on tuition and two years lost wages. Read what I learned in my MBA, aside from accounting, which is still feasible if not lucrative. The assignments at the end of each chapter are a strength of the book. (They’re not hard. Several you’ve probably never thought of. There are two chapters covering “MBAisms” B schools impart. Its for you to judge if they’re still valid. Available on Audible.

Wealth Building Ideas

200+ wealth building ideas from the forerunner to Grifter Dome. Investments, entrepreneurship, mindset, afformations, strategy and a miscellaneous section included. Available on Audible.

The 9 Laws

Intense story of modern man’s struggle. The author uses ancient fighting maxims and stories to show (the alt right) how to survive and thrive. The author was born deaf but still managed success doing IT on Wall Street. Unfortunately not available on Audible.

Look at the subtitle. This book is very much in the vein of Cobra Tate’s teachings (according to me.)

The Capitalist Manifesto

Robert Kiyosaki’s turn at writing a Libertarian manifesto was a good one. There were a few capitalist manifestos published at the turn of the Millennia. But those are long out of print. Kiyosaki presents a stark contrast between campus communists, enemies in Vietnam, and entrepreneurs turned teachers. Recommended. Available on Audible.

The Elements of Style

Great concise guide to good writing. Testing out of a writing course is possible if you’ve read this.

Elements Of Style cover

Fundamentals of Corporate Finance book cover

Corporate Finance

You don’t need to read this unless you’re taking your company public or if your boss feels nervous she didn’t get her MBA. Corporate finance is personal finance for businesses. This is the same text as assigned to my MBA class.

The Law of Corporations in a Nutshell

Everything about corporate law.

Legislation and Regulation in a Nutshell book cover

Legislation and Regulation in a Nutshell

Legislation is helpful to know yesterday.

Global Internet Law in a Nutshell

Read what a lawyer reads before the Bar Exam.

Some academics suggest reading this series helps deal with lawyers as a business owner.

Patriots: Surviving the Coming Collapse

Written by a former Army officer, this is instruction as fiction. The characters are believable. The first half of this book is survival retreat related. The chapter where the United Nations flies into the Moscow, Idaho airport is priceless. If you’re worried the collapsitarians will bring down western civ, read this.

This book is still pretty relevant to preppers and for people who want to band with others to “survive” Balkanization, the Great Reset (hope not!), and problems with economic shifts (i.e. The Sovereign Individual’s message.)

College Republicans: Unauthorized: Red Agents in Blue States

This short audiobook gives you the real story of my College Republicans chapter.

College Republicans: Unauthorized: Red Agents in Blue States cover

Antifragility & Machiavellianism 2026

Contains a tested and true new spin on networking. How mass formation psychosis affects local politics. And a new spin on positioning. (I went to business school with the author.)

These three futuristic movies have recently been touted by the Bow Tied Jungle, of all people. That quiet huite boy at work checks his portfolio on breaks because he believes the future is dystopian.

Idiocracy (DVD)

Ignore the Wall Banger and Rupert Murdoch and watch Idiocracy. A soldier wakes up 400 years in the future. And the world is stupid. From the creator of Beavis and Butthead.

Judge Dread (DVD)

Demolition Man (DVD)

Once, we’ve got ourselves calmed down about MBA’s and starting a hedge fund brah!! We can watch Rain Man and On Golden Pond and see other things just as important as our grifts.

On Golden Pond (DVD)

This touching movie addresses old age and the generational divide. On Golden Pond is worth watching. My high school sociology class watched this.

Rain Man (DVD)

Another touching one. Charlie Babbit steals his autistic brother of a mental institution and drives him across the country in a very nice car.

This movie deserves to be in a list with Atlas Shrugged.
